Interview with Nicolas Pieroni, Wood Department Manager

We interviewed Nicolas Pieroni, our Wood Department Manager, who told us about his role at Inoxa.

  1. Can you tell us about your role and what you do?

    My role is that of the Wood Department Manager. I oversee the organization of the various production phases, from the raw materials to the finished product, which is then sent to the shipping department.

  2. Can you tell us about your journey at Inoxa and how you became the Wood Department Manager?

    I joined Inoxa in 2010, and it was my first job. For several years, I worked as an assembly operator for semi-finished products in the wood department. Over time, the company believed in me and offered me the role of Wood Department Manager.

  3. What are the current trends or demands regarding the use of wood in furniture? Have you noticed any changes in customer preferences?

    Managing the wood department, I've noticed an evolution in trends and customer demands. Our clients have always shown a strong interest in customized products, and this need for customization continues. Additionally, I’ve observed a preference for high-quality wood products, appreciated not only for their durability and longevity but also for their aesthetic value. These products stand out for a design that perfectly matches modern and minimalist styles, catering to those who seek functional and elegant furniture.

  4. What values guide your work and that you share with the company? 

    The values that guide my work, and that I fully share with the company, are based on customer care, with the goal of providing high-quality products and quick, efficient delivery services. I am committed daily to overseeing production with care, ensuring that each phase of the process contributes to achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction.

  5. How does sustainability affect the selection of wood and department management? Have you adopted specific practices to reduce environmental impact?

    Sustainability is an increasingly central theme, especially in the face of of the growing customer demand for more environmentally responsible solutions. It is something that is very close to our heart and guides many of our operational choices. We manage processes with the goal of optimizing each phase and reducing the environmental impact, starting with raw material selection. Specifically, we collaborate with FSC-certified suppliers, ensuring that the wood used comes from sustainably managed sources.

  6. What aspects of working in the wood department do you find most stimulating and satisfying? Is there a recent project you are particularly proud of?

    I find several aspects of my work in the wood department particularly stimulating. Among these, constant interaction with the technical office to optimize production processes is definitely one of the most interesting, as it offers the opportunity to continuously improve efficiency and quality. Another very rewarding aspect is managing the department, which includes both overseeing production and supervising the warehouse, two key areas for ensuring the correct functioning of the entire operational cycle. 

    As for projects, there isn't one in particular that I am more proud of than others, as I have had the chance to follow all of them from the beginning, and I dedicate myself with the same commitment to each one, ensuring that the customer always receives a high-quality product.

  7. What innovations or new technologies have recently been implemented in the wood department? How do they contribute to improving quality and efficiency?

    The company has always stood out for its commitment to investing in new technologies and equipment. In the wood department, in particular, several innovative solutions have been implemented, allowing us to optimize production, improve process control, and ensure high-quality results. These advanced tools not only increase operational efficiency but also ensure excellent quality standards at every stage of the work.

  8. Looking to the future, what are your goals for the wood department at Inoxa?

    Looking ahead, my main goal for the wood department, in line with the company’s expectations, is to continue improving production processes, focusing on innovation, efficiency, and sustainability. Another fundamental goal is to strengthen collaboration between departments, to create an even more integrated and synergistic workflow.
